º£½ÇÉçÇø is teaming up with the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation and America’s SBDC Michigan to host the inaugural, Get Real! Entrepreneurship Competition. It takes place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 13 in R.W. Considine Hall on Lake State’s main campus. The goal is to provide students an opportunity to compete and receive an impactful and immersive experience within a business and product development environment.

The Get Real! Entrepreneurship Competition invites competitors from community and tribal colleges across Michigan and Ontario to develop and submit a product concept or innovative business idea. Students will engage with faculty from LSSU’s College of Innovation and Solutions to enhance a product or business concept.  Following the work sessions, competitors will present plans to a panel, with five finalists advancing to compete for top honors.

First place in the business idea category receives $500 underwritten by the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation. Second and third places receive $300 and $200, respectively. The best product idea gets $500 plus five hours of LSSU Product Development Center consulting.
