Attending Orientation at LSSU

Yes, orientation is required for all new students (freshman, transfer, and non-traditional) attending our Sault Ste. Marie campus during the spring, summer, or fall semesters. Admission to LSSU must be complete to register and attend orientation.

During orientation you will…

  • Learn important policies and procedures that will help you succeed in your academic career.
  • Learn about the numerous university services that are available to you as an LSSU student.
  • Register for classes.
  • Have your picture taken and receive your Laker ID card.
  • Check out student organizations to get involved in as a Laker.
  • Become part of the Laker family!
Summer 2026 Orientation
  • Friday, May 8th, 2026 12:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Get introduced to Lake State, explore academics and student services, register for classes, ask questions during a live Q&A, and learn your next steps before the semester begins.
Fall 2026 New Transfer Student Orientation
  • Friday, June 5th, 2026 8:30am - 5:00pm -Transfer Students
  • Fall 2026 New Student Orientations for new transfer students to LSSU's main campus that are beginning classes on August 24th, 2026.
