The Arts Center at 海角社区 presents Irish acoustic band, L煤nasa. Playing traditional instruments with a contemporary sound, L煤nasa, takes the stage March 12th at 7:00 p.m. Arts Center Director, Spencer Christensen states, 鈥淟煤nasa is one of the biggest Irish music sensations – it鈥檚 not to be missed!鈥.

Comprised of Se谩n Smyth (fiddle and low whistles), Kevin Crawford (flute, low whistles and tin whistles), Cillian Vallely (uilleann pipes and low whistles), Trevor Hutchinson (double bass) and the group鈥檚 newest member Ed Boyd (guitar), L煤nasa delivers music with a passion that informs every note and continues to define and redefine the genre. Their innovative arrangements and unique approach to the music create a singular sound that has propelled Irish acoustic music from familiar ground into surprising and exciting new territory.

L煤nasa has toured around the world for over 20 years and received multiple awards. One of their albums, The Kinnitty Sessions, was voted Best Traditional Album of 2005 by readers of Irish Music Magazine and was nominated for Folk Album of the Year in the BBC Radio 2 Awards!

The New York Times even went so far as to say, 鈥淭his is the hottest Irish acoustic group on the planet.鈥

The production was made possible with the generous support from the MICHIGAN COUNCIL FOR ARTS AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS, Fund for LSSU, and the Duncan MacLaren Family Fund for the Performing Arts.

L煤nasa will be on the Arts Center Stage at 7:00 p.m. March 12th. Free parking is available in Lot K, in front of the Arts Center, and Lot E, behind the Cisler Center.
